Lithium carbonate is a basic lithium salt, mainly used in the manufacture of metallic lithium and its isotopes,

various fine lithium salts (lithium molybdate, lithium hydroxide, lithium bromide, etc.) and the aluminum smelting industry.

It has been used as an important additive for special glass such as heat-resistant glass and porous glass for color and black-and-white TV tubes.

It is heated by a Fenggu lithium material sintering furnace.High-purity lithium carbonate is a necessity for magnetic materials,

atomic energy industry, electronics industry, and optical instruments;

For example, it is the main raw material for the preparation of oxide single crystals of lithium tantalate and lithium niobate.

Furthermore, lithium carbonate also

Used in the manufacture of drugs, catalysts, enamel, ceramics, and more.

 In the world today, the output of lithium metal is increasing by 10% to 15% annually.

It is estimated that the consumption of lithium carbonate in 2020 will be at least 10 times that of 2000,

of which more than 50% will be used for the production of electronic industrial materials,

while the rest will mainly be used as production of lithium chloride (dehumidifier, welding agent, bleaching and disinfectant),

lithium bromide (high-efficiency water vapor absorbent,

air humidity regulator, absorption refrigerant, fiber expansion agent, high-grade battery electrolyte),

lithium hydroxide (oil industry raw material, nickel-cadmium battery electrolyte additive),

lithium molybdate (environmentally friendly refrigerator corrosion inhibitor, electrode material, metal ceramics, chemical raw material), etc.

 At present, lithium carbonate is mainly produced from lithium ore in the world.

The industrial lithium ore with production value is spodumene (LiAlSi2O),

which generally contains 1% to 2% of Li2O;enrichment to 5% to 6%;Sillimanite (LiAlSi4O2), commercial ore containing LiO2 35% ~4%;

Lepidolite [Li2(F2OH)2Al2(SiO3)3], generally containing 3% to 4% Li2O;

Montebrasite (LiAlFPO) contains 7.5% to 9% Li2O, but its reserves are not large.

The spodumene reserves in the northwest and southwest regions of China are abundant.

This article mainly describes the production process method

and improvement measures for heating lithium carbonate with Fenggu lithium rotary kiln.
