Energy storage of 5GWh! Three Gorges Energy plans to build a new energy base project worth 79.79 billion yuan
Three Gorges Energy announced on the evening of June 27th that it plans to invest RMB 79.79 billion to build a new energy base project in the central and northern part of Ordos in the Kubuqi Desert of Inner Mongolia. The project will include a total of 8 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power, 4 million kilowatts of wind power, 200000 kilowatts of solar heat, 4 million kilowatts of coal-fired power projects, and 5 million kilowatt hours of new energy storage. The generated electricity is planned to be transmitted to the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region for consumption through the approved Mengxi Beijing Tianjin Hebei ± 800 kV ultra-high voltage direct current transmission project.
The project capital accounts for 20% of the investment amount, which is 15959 million yuan, and is contributed by shareholders in proportion to their shareholding; The remaining funds required for project construction will be resolved through bank loans, financing leases, and other means. The investment entity of the project is Inner Mongolia Sanxia Mengneng Energy Co., Ltd. The shareholders of Inner Mongolia Three Gorges Mengneng Energy Co., Ltd. are Three Gorges Land New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. and Inner Mongolia Energy Group Co., Ltd., with shareholding ratios of 56% and 44% respectively. Three Gorges Land New Energy Investment Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Three Gorges Energy Holdings, and Three Gorges Energy holds 34% of its equity.
The Kubuqi Base coal-fired power project is planned to start construction in September 2024 and is expected to be fully connected to the grid for power generation in June 2027. The construction progress of wind, photovoltaic, solar thermal, and energy storage projects will be adjusted in a timely manner based on the progress of coal-fired power and external transmission channels
